Pacifica Seniors Give Back

At Pacifica Senior Living, we love giving back to our local communities. From coast to coast, our Senior Living communities are involved with charity organizations and fundraising on both a national and neighborhood level.

Whether it is participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, donating to local animal shelters, collecting Toys for Tots during the holidays, or raising funds for local charities, our communities love getting involved and giving back.

Giving back not only changes the lives of those we give to, but it can also be powerful for our residents. Volunteering can create a sense of purpose, be linked to higher self-esteem, and encourage social connections and community. Volunteering time, donating, and raising both awareness and funds can help both sides, improving emotional and mental wellbeing, especially in seniors or retired individuals looking to fill their days with meaning.

As a company, Pacifica Senior Living partners with associations and charities where our team members and residents can give back in meaningful ways. Our biggest partnership is with the Alzheimer’s Association. We work with them to raise money and awareness throughout the year. One of our biggest events is participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s where staff, residents and loved ones come together to raise money and walk in support of those living with dementia.

Our communities have also found other creative ways to show their support for the Alzheimer’s Association on an ongoing basis. Some hosted casino nights where visitors could make a donation to the ALZ foundation in exchange for tokens, while other communities had bingo night fundraisers, barbeques, or donation-based luncheons.

Some of our teams hosted a silent auction where guests could bid on various donated prizes, while others hosted bake sales or prom nights, where all proceeds went to supporting the Alzheimer's Association.

Communities have also given back to their local communities. At Meridian at Lake San Marcos, the Pins and Needles Sewing Group meets each week and always has several projects on the go. They have created a variety of knitted items that are donated to those in need throughout the local area. Similarly, the group sold some of their knitted creations at their community fair, with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors Homes.

Pacifica Senior Living Paradise Valley hosted a National Dog Biscuit Day where they created dog treats and biscuit bags for their pet therapy volunteers.

Coat drives and Toy drives are also simple, but important ways we give back to our local communities. Many of our communities, like Meridian at Lantana and Gardens at Northridge host annual Toys for Tots toy drives, while Pacifica Senior Living Santa Fe and Meridian at Creek collected children's winter coats for those in need.

Along with the Alzheimer’s Association, our communities also do their part to give to other well known fundraising associations. West Park Senior Living hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness event where they made pink bracelets and ribbons to show their support, while

Pacifica Senior Living Peoria hosted a bake sale with goods baked with proceeds being donated to The National Breast Cancer Foundation. Pacifica Senior Living Ocala partnered with the Lions Club International to be of service to the Ocala community by hosting fundraisers that benefit health care needs in the Ocala area.

As we close out the year, we look back at the wonderful acts of giving from our residents, teams and communities with pride. We love being a part of a community-minded company that aims to serve and support our neighborhoods, and causes that are dear to our community’s hearts.
