At Pacifica Senior Living Peoria, building a true family-like community is key for both residents and staff. The Peoria team is a caring and committed group that ensures residents feel respected and welcome at all times. The whole team works together to make Pacifica Senior Living Peoria the shining example that it is.

This month we want to highlight a dedicated, humble, and giving person who embodies hard work. Our Employee Spotlight this month is Jose, one of our passionate and skilled chefs. 

Jose started his cooking career from an early age, landing his first job at El Pollo Loco when he was 15 years old. He always loved cooking, and more specifically, cooking for others, and this passion grew as he continued to excel in the field.

Working at Pacifica, Jose has been able to channel his passion and love for others into the food he cooks for the residents. He has also learned to adapt to and meet the various nutritional needs of the residents at Peoria, and he enjoys the challenge of preparing something new and exciting each day while still meeting the dietary requirements of the residents.

Jose also had a part to play in Peoria earning a “Grade A” kitchen grading. This distinction is awarded to communities that have reached the highest level of overall operations in their kitchen - across all fronts: safety, cleanliness and hygiene, and food storage and preparation. Jose and the culinary team have worked hard to ensure only the highest standards are met in their kitchen.

Staying healthy is also important to Jose, and he has committed to riding his bike 8 miles to and from work every day. This dedication and commitment to health and green living is one of the things that inspires his team and all of us at Pacifica. It also shows how he is upholding Pacifica’s commitment to green living. Seeing our staff get equally excited about going green and reducing our carbon footprint is truly amazing.

From our residents, your coworkers, and our team of administrators we are proud to have you as part of our Pacifica family. You bring a smile to our residents’ faces each and every day through your kindness and your delicious meals, helping them feel truly at home.  

We hope everyone will take time to celebrate Jose with us, and all the staff that come together to bring our residents the exceptional senior care we have come to expect from Pacifica Senior Living.
