National Good Neighbor Day

What does being a good neighbor mean to you? Today, on National Good Neighbor day, it’s a good time to take a moment and think about the role we play as neighbors in one another’s lives -- What makes a good neighbor?

On National Good Neighbor Day, we are celebrating the importance of being a good neighbor and the impact we have on each other and our community through our contributions as members of a neighborhood. At Pacifica Senior Living, our communities work hard to provide a warm, welcoming and caring community that embodies everything that it means to be a great neighbor. We are always striving towards growing a connected community, and building a tight-knit neighborhood.

Being a good neighbor goes beyond just a fun board game with friends or dining together over a delicious meal. These things are important, but it is also about respecting and understanding one another, and creating a circle of trust and care for all members of the same community. Each person plays an important role in creating a great neighborhood.

So how can you celebrate National Good Neighbor Day at home?
It’s simple – be a good neighbor to those around you!

Consider dropping off some baked goods you know your neighbor loves, or offer to run an errand for them. Something as simple as a card or an encouraging note can tell your neighbors they matter and make a meaningful difference to how welcome they feel. Little gestures can help residents feel welcomed and included as part of the community where they live.

At Pacifica Senior Living communities, we encourage our residents to engage in neighborly behavior every day. We welcome families and prospective visitors to see this in action by touring our residence, getting a firsthand look at what it means to call a Pacifica Senior Living community home. Find your local community and schedule a free tour here, or chat with us to learn more about life with Pacifica Senior Living.
