Super Bowl Sunday at Pacifica Senior Living

Feb 10, 2022 9:59:40 AM / by Pacifica Senior Living

It’s February, which means it’s time for the winners of the NFL’s two conferences -- the AFC and the NFC -- to battle it out in the epic sporting event that is the annual Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is the largest sporting event of the year in America, and draws anywhere from 75 million to 150 million viewers each year. Football fans, sports lovers, and those that just want to enjoy the celebratory spirit all tune in to catch some of the fun and excitement.

This year marks the 56th annual Super Bowl, and is a clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. The event is being hosted in LA at the newly-built SoFi Stadium, making it only the second time in history a ‘Home’ team is playing in the Super Bowl in their own city. The first time the host city competed in the finals was in the 2020 season, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played at home in Tampa, Florida.

The Cincinnati Bengals are also making history this year, as they make a trip to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1988. The Bengals have never won a Super Bowl title, and if they beat the Rams this year, it will mark the first win in franchise history.

Whichever team you are cheering for, this year is bound to be exciting. Pacifica Senior Living residents are invited to come together to watch the big game and celebrate with their friends, cheering on their colors with spirit. We will have snacks and beverages to help get everyone in the Super Bowl spirit, with lots of space to hang out and spend time together.

We encourage everyone to wear their favorite jersey or team colors, and come out to meet neighbors from friendly or rival teams. Our residents can enjoy discussing the best plays of the season and talking about their favorite players and picks for the draft. Events are a great way for individuals to connect over shared interests and make new friends within their community, which can help combat isolation.

The Super Bowl is more than just a game, it is a great reason to gather together and enjoy one another’s company, get excited, and join in team spirit. Whether you’re a football lover or just in it for the friends and food, everyone can enjoy celebrating the big game this weekend.

We are excited to create more game day memories with our residents this year, especially with such an iconic matchup to mark the occasion. We will be having fun cheering alongside friends, watching the great plays and enjoying yummy snacks from the comfort of a community living room. Whether you’re cheering on the home team Rams or the underdog Bengals, we are excited to cheer alongside you this upcoming Sunday.

What are your favorite Super Bowl memories? We invite you to share them with us as you make new memories together this year.  Please contact our friendly staff at your local community to learn more about our Game Day celebrations.
