This month is National Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the amazing volunteers in our own communities. From non profit groups to student volunteers, our communities are honored to have such amazing visitors and helpers around our communities.
Our volunteers fill a wide variety of roles as well. From spending time with our residents to joining in with activities, crafts, or providing acts of service, having volunteers in our communities is part of the rich atmosphere we foster.
We especially love seeing our young volunteers and schools who visit and encourage intergenerational bonds between our residents and young students. It is a joy for our residents to spend time with the kids, and equally the students get to experience an enriching time hearing stories and life lessons from their elders.
Whether we are hosting fundraising events and need volunteer helpers, or we are sharing in an art class together, we understand the value and importance of volunteers.

National Healthcare Decisions Day is a day that encourages the public to take charge of their own healthcare directives. It is intended to “inspire, educate and empower” while highlighting the importance of advance care planning and advanced directives. Making a plan for your future helps you and your loved ones to be on the same page about your health and your wishes. It’s never too early to think about your future.
Across our communities our amazing chefs and culinary teams are always cooking up something special. We pride ourselves in serving delicious meals for everything from special holiday events to every meal of the day.
Food is one of the most powerful and natural ways people connect with one another, and we love that meal time is often a highlight for many of our residents. Recently, we had a sandwich competition where we encouraged all chefs to create their favorite sandwich which would then be submitting for judging.
Living a sustainable lifestyle might sound daunting, but it is actually simpler than you may think. Start small, with these every day adjustments to help reduce the negative impact we all have on the environment. Focusing on things like recycling, using less water, or using green cleaning products are simple ways we can all cut back on our carbon footprint.
This International Women’s Day we are celebrating the stories of amazing and groundbreaking women within our own communities. Whether it was breaking into new job roles and industries, fighting for women’s rights, or showing off athletic prowess, our residents reflected on how women’s rights have changed throughout their lifetime.

APFM is North America’s largest senior living referral service, which helps families find accommodations for older adults by way of assessing care needs, finances, and lifestyle.

This month, as we celebrate Black History and stories, we’re looking at inspiring individuals who continued the fight for visibility and representation well into their later years. Whether it was making a mark on the culinary scene, pushing for desegregation in the armed forces, winning Grammy Awards as a senior, or being one of the first to represent black women on television, these inspiring black individuals left a lasting impact.
Valentine’s Day is a time to show appreciation and love for those we are closest to. No matter the type of connection, it is the perfect excuse to remind your loved ones how much you care. At Pacifica Senior Living we love celebrating love in all its forms.

They work within our communities to provide the perfect balance of care and support so your loved one can enjoy their independence while you rest assured knowing care is always on hand when they need it most. From medication management to assistance with the Activities of Daily Living (like bathing, dressing, or toileting), our caregivers assist with a range of care options depending on our residents needs.
January 26th marks activity professionals day, a time when we celebrate all of our activity professionals throughout our communities. At Pacifica Senior Living we are proud to offer robust calendars of activities, events and outings tailored to the needs and preferences of our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, and these activities would not be possible without our Activity Directors (ADs) and team members.
