This Veteran's Day, as we recognize the many Veterans who work, live, and visit our communities, it is appropriate to reflect on JFK’s powerful words that speak to us of the commitment we all have to live by, the truths set forth in our Constitution, and the honor deserved of those who have selflessly served to protect the freedoms we all hold so dear.

For 5 years now, Donna M. has been an integral member of our Pacifica Senior Living Family. While her home community is Pacifica Senior Living Ocala in Florida, as one of our Senior Business Office managers she often travels other places to help train and support other Business Office Managers. She loves doing this and is thrilled when she can empower others to do their best and grow successfully in their roles.

If you ask any employee at The Meridian at Westwood about Jarome, I think they’d all agree that it’s pretty hard to miss him. He is tall in stature, but that isn’t what makes him stand out; it’s his personality. Even with a mask on you can see his megawatt smile, which he gladly shares with everyone he sees. He is always upbeat and positive and people are naturally drawn to him. Residents and staff alike all know Jarome and seem to brighten when he's around.

Healthy eating plays a major role in our overall well-being, no matter our age. At any age, but especially as we age, ensuring proper nutrition and eating habits is vital. With each passing year, our metabolism slows down, our strength diminishes, and we are more likely to develop chronic diseases and conditions related to our eating habits.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to another of our remarkable residents, Helen M. Not only is she a beloved resident at Pacifica Senior Living Northridge, but she is also a centenarian, having just celebrated her 101st birthday!

When you participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s you are part of a mission and team that spreads across the country. Just like everything else in the world at this time, The Walk to End Alzheimer’s may look a little different, but it will go on with the same commitment to ending Alzheimer’s that we’ve always had and always will have. But, with the changes to the world in mind, The Walk to End Alzheimer’s this year will be a mobile walk where participants will join via computer or tablet. The event will still consist of the opening ceremony, speakers, sponsor spotlights, promise garden ceremony, countdown to step off, and of course, the walk itself.
