Ray and William AKA “Bill”, first met in the third grade in their hometown of Inglewood, California, and their friendship was instantaneous. Ray’s favorite childhood memory was the idyllic camping trips his family would take him and Bill on to Wrightwood Mountain.
The boys spent summers exploring the surrounding area and swimming in the lake. The duo were inseparable, and remained best friends all throughout their teen years, despite attending different high schools.
As we kick off the new year, we are excited by the growth and changes happening at Pacifica Senior Living. As a company we are continuing to take on new properties and expand our reach, offering compassionate care and inviting homes to more and more senior residents.
Pacifica Senior Living acquired four new properties at the beginning of 2023. We are excited to be welcoming new communities across California in the neighborhoods of Pacific Grove, Sun City, Poway and Oakland. Our teams are working to create the highest standard of care within these new spaces as well as ensure that each reflects and lives up to the Pacifica values.

What can be better than the unbreakable bond of friendship? Throughout our lives, our friends and peers are there to share with us, lend a hand, offer an ear or advice, or simply spend time together enjoying our favorite activities. June 8th is National Best Friends Day and we want to share some of the stories of best friends in our Pacifica communities.
It can sometimes be difficult to make new friends as we age, but Senior Living communities offer a place where older adults can bond and enjoy activities together. We love seeing the many friendships and life long bonds that form between our residents.
At Pacifica Senior Living, our number one priority is making each resident feel comfortable, welcome, and loved. Today we celebrate National Honor Our LGBTQ Elder's Day, a day that celebrates the trailblazers, social activists, and brave individuals that fought for visibility, respect, and equality. Without the LGBTQ community elders, younger generations would not be able to experience the freedoms and rights they have today.
We often refer to Pacifica as a family, and we truly feel that way. Across our communities we strive to build a sense of belonging and acceptance, as well as a feeling of caring and compassion for all. From our staff to our residents, their loved ones and our corporate team, there is a sense of family and teamwork that is at the heart of all we do.
We also know how important it can be for seniors and older adults to stay connected and close to family and friends as they age.
In celebration of Mother's Day this Sunday May 8th, we reached out to our communities and asked them to share the best advice they could give as a mother, or words of wisdom they once received from their mother.
Mothers come in all different sizes, shapes, types and styles - they wear many different hats, and take on a wide variety of roles both within their family and within their personal lives. Moms often are a source of wisdom, insight, and comfort for their families, and for a lot of us, the words and wisdom our moms pass down can be some of the most life changing.
Friendship can be one of the most important parts of life. Being able to connect, share, and experience life together can make everything richer, warmer and more meaningful. It can be challenging to make new friends - or even maintain friendships - as we age, but that is the time that connections with others can be the most significant. Seniors can feel isolated or secluded as they age, especially if they live alone, and that is why communities such ours at Pacifica Senior Living and the Meridian Communities are so important to ensuring seniors have a full and rich life.
